Students of a Government School in Nalgonda district (India) are on the verge of creating history by setting up an amateur radio club on their school premises.
Over 43 students of the Government Model School got their restricted grade amateur radio licenses from the Department of Telecommunications recently, thanks to the support and encouragement by one of their teachers Sayed Jilani, who is also a lelicensed Ham operator with a call sign VU3OND.
With the consistent encouragement, the students took the examination conduced by the Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) of the DoT and cleared it. But the fresh amateur radio license holders faced another problem – that of procuring the radio equipment for making long distance contacts over radio
