5W0AF Update (Mar 05)

In just a few days, I was supposed to fly with Qatar Airways to Doha, then on to Brisbane, and finally to Apia to activate 5W0AF. Since then, however, the geopolitical situation has changed significantly. The airspace of several countries, including Qatar, has been closed, and even if it reopens soon, there is no guarantee that the situation will remain stable.

Because of this, the only reasonable solution seems to be to change the route and postpone the DXpedition—possibly until autumn—purchasing new tickets that do not cross the Middle East. This is a very difficult decision: the tickets were already bought, the accommodation prepaid, and all arrangements completed.
